Website Search Engine Optimisation
Image ALT Text Analysis
All <img> Tags should include a
short ALT text (shown when the user places the mouse over an Image) that describes
the Image.
The wording of the Image ALT Text can be used by the Search Engines to find a Website,
and may appear in the Search Engine Results Page (SERP) listing. Consequently the
Image ALT Text should be regarded next in importance after the content of the Website.
The Image ALT Text:
- Should be checked to ensure that it is optimal
- Should be different for each image in the Website
- Should contain relevant Keyword Phrases
- Should not be missing or inadequate
The size of the Image in bytes is shown in this analysis. It should be kept to a
maximum of 10,000 bytes. If the size of the Image shown is zero, then the size is
missing from the <img> tag, and should be set.
The analysis
This routine can take some time to complete the Web crawl of all the Links. For
large Websites, it is helpful to print the results.
