Website Search Engine Optimisation
Web Page Analysis Explained
In the previous page, critical SEO details were extracted from the supplied URL.
These are the factors that have the maximum effect on SERP Rankings and the volumes
of traffic.
Here is a list of each of the SEO parameters, and where to find an in depth explanation:
Links
These are the hyperlinks appearing in the Webpage. Each link must have a descriptive
name. See the Tips on page
Internal and
External Linking
for further details.
Page Title
This is what will appear on the Search Engine Results Page (SERP). For a full explanation
of its importance, see
The Page Titles.

Headings
The Search Engines places weight on the Headings, especially
the top headings. Make use of the HTML Heading tags h1, h2, h3 and h4 to specify
features in the page. They're there to tell the visitor and the Search Engines what
the page and its content is all about. The most important is the h1 tag –
it is given significant weight in the Search Engine algorithm. Keep the Headings
short-and-sweet and based on Keyword phrases.
Images
Images must have the ALT tag and a descriptive name. The wording in the ALT tag
is most important for the first Images appearing at the top of the list. See the
page on
Images.
Keyword Density
The Search Engines place more weight on the frequently used words. See the page
on
Keywords
First 25 Words
The First 25 Word listing is exactly in the order that
the Search Engines see. This allows an analysis without visual effects and emotion.
Often the order of the words is a surprise. The Search Engines place the most weight
on the initial Words on the Web page, so this is an important part of SEO. Ensure
that this valuable real estate is filled with Keywords and Keyword phrases, but
not irrelevant and unnecessary words. Make every word count.
